AT&T VPLS, AT&T OPT-E-WAN
AT&T VPLS service, called OPT-E-WAN, enables businesses to link multiple locations with the ease and efficiency of a flat Ethernet wide area network (WAN) that now can be extended globally. Virtual Private LAN Service is evolving into the next "in" technology. AT&T defines it as any-to-any Ethernet that can be either metro or long haul.
VPLS allows enterprises to scale bandwidth and is a good fit for customers who require meshed connectivity and want to control and manage routing. AT&T now is offering its Ethernet based virtual private local area network service (VPLS) in 14 countries across Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
First offered in the United States, AT&T’s service now is available in Germany, the U.K., Belgium, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore and Japan.
Global Crossing VPLS EtherExtend Service
Global Crossing EtherExtend Access Services literally enable you to extend your Ethernet capabilities. Now customers can seamlessly operate Ethernet-based services over Wide Area Networks (WAN) like a single LAN (Local Area Network). With a 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps EtherExtend access port, customers will connect to the nearest Global Crossing Point of Presence (PoP) via the Ethernet network of any Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) or Competitive Access Provider (CAP) with whom Global Crossing has established a Network-to-Network Interconnection (NNI) agreement.
EtherExtend Flex lowers the cost of access and matches the access Level of Service to the application's needs. It uses local access vendors to provide the last-mile Ethernet connection. However, rather than forwarding traffic over a physical connection to Global Crossing, the traffic is forwarded via a logical connection as a Virtual Local Area Network over a physical Network to Network Interface.
Level 3 VPLS

The Level 3® VPLS offering, or Virtual Private LAN Service, is a Layer 2 Ethernet service that allows sites in different locations to easily interact over a wide area as part of a single meshed network.

The service allows you to fully control routing using dynamic class-of-service tagging. And because the service is Ethernet transparent, you can rely on VPLS to carry any type on Ethernet traffic; not just IP-based protocols.
Masergy VPLS
Masergy VPLS service securely extends the Ethernet local-area network (LAN) throughout the entire WAN, making the MASERGY network completely transparent. It includes fully-meshed Layer 2 multipoint connectivity to the customer no matter where your sites are located and independent of the access technology being used.
Ease of Management – VPLS scales easily, so adding a new site does not require any configuration changes to existing equipment. Existing sites will automatically recognize the new site via a new entry in their MAC tables. The process is exactly the same as adding a new PC to an Ethernet switch. Since all connectivity is done via Ethernet, any Layer 3 protocol used in the LAN can also be transported across the WAN.
